Many legends have been told about Vlad the Impaler… he probably is one of the most famous Romanians ever… but who was he in reality, which of these stories are real? Vlad or Dracula? ...or both?
The legends say that he was a vampire, the history says that he was a brave lord, for the Saxons he was a demon, for the Romanians he was a sort of savior.
During our 2-days trip we shall try to discover who Vlad really was. Our tour starts in Sighisoara, the place where he was born, the best preserved medieval town in Europe. People here say that, during the day his spirit travels but at night it always comes back to his native places…
From Sighisoara we shall continue our tour in Sibiu, learn why it was such an important place for Vlad and his son, Mihnea the Evil One.
From Sibiu our tour continues to the fortress of Poienari an important strategic castle fortified by Vlad.
Our last stop is at Bran, the famous castle in the heart of Transylvania, the place where fantasy and reality join together, the place where the myth of Dracula was born.
